About Keith Whitley/allison Krauss
In 1995, Mike Cromwell, then the production director at WMIL-FM in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, concocted a duet merging elements of both the Keith Whitley and Alison Krauss versions of "When You Say Nothing At All". The "duet" garnered national attention, and it spread from at least Philadelphia to Albuquerque. It was never officially serviced to radio and has never been available commercially. The song written by Paul Overstreet & Don Schlitzwas was originally recorded by Whitley for his 1988 studio album, Don't Close Your Eyes and would became his second number one hit.
