Chris Cornell (Soundgarden), Mike McCready (Pearl Jam), Duff McKagan (ex-Guns N’ Roses) and Barrett Martin peformed last Friday with the Seattle Symphony in an event titled “Sonic Evolution”. The group played songs by Mad Season, whom McCready and Martin were members of, along with the late musicians Layne Staley (Alice in Chains) and John Baker Saunders.

The one-time group was also joined by Pearl Jam members Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament and Matt Cameron (who also drums for Soundgarden), and together with Cornell they performed a couple of songs from their previous project Temple of the Dog. Another guest on stage was drummer Sean Kinney from Alice in Chains.

The event also featured orchestral works inspired by Nirvana and Pearl Jam.
