This story is so crazy - it can’t be made up. While touring Europe, supporting their new album, ’The Gateway’, Red Hot Chili Peppers members landed in Belarus this weekend. But it was not the welcoming the band expected. For some reason, customs officials made the members sign a bunch of Metallica CD’s and photos, although it was explained to them that this is NOT Metallica.

“We were called into customs officials office at an airport in Belarus and they asked us to sign a bunch of Metallica cd's and photos”, Bassist Flea wrote on his Facebook page, “We tried to explain to them that we weren't Metallica but they insisted that we sign anyway. They had the power. Well I did play fight fire with with with Metallica once. I love Metallica anyways but I'm no Robert Trujillo.”
Chill Peppers will play the ’T in the Park’ Festival today (July 10) in Scotland, then will head to Canada, Korea and Japan, United States and back to Europe. No comment from Metallica was given.
