This past week we’ve learned about the new incredible release coming from Shady Records. Mr. Mathers came out with a 10 vinyl records box set that features his entire catalog including: Encore, Curtain Call: The Hits, Eminem Presents: The Re-Up, Relapse, Recovery, and The Marshall Mathers LP2. Not long after publishing the massive item in the Shady Records site – It was sold out. Incredible, huh?
These kind of releases usually associates with much older artists than Eminem. Neil Young is more likely to put out a 10 vinyl box set, Leonard Cohen too. A 40 year old rapper? Not something you’ll see everyday. Another prove that in the days where lots of parts of the music industry are collapsing, Eminem continues to rise up, creating the market by his own rules.
Just look at his last album, ‘The Marshall Mathers LP2′, released on November 2013. According to Nielsen Soundscan, the album has sold 2,244,000 copies in the United States alone as of December 2014. Those are some crazy numbers. Figures that are more remembered from the 1990’s, when the Compact Disc format was in it’s prime. Even the major artists today are dreaming about achievements like these.
The song above is well known to all Eminem fans. ‘Love The Way You Lie’ feat. Rihanna was a massive hit from Eminem’s triumphant comeback album – ‘Recovery’. With the celebrations of the new vinyl box, and another major step in the rapper’s insane career – You can now play the song with the lyrics and chords in perfect sync. Hit it.
