It’s another touching production by ‘Blank on Blank’. The online team publishes vintage interview tapes with new animations. “We transform journalists' unheard interviews with cultural icons. The future of journalism is remixing the past”, as they say.
This interview with Kurt Cobain was held in July 22, 1993 and conducted by Jon Savage on a cassette tape. Less than a year before Cobain killed himself.
In the tape, brought back to life with animation, Cobain talks about the devastating divorce of his parents: I could’t face my friends at school, i wanted a normal family. I had no male friends, I even thought that I was gay. I thought that might be the solution to my problem”, He said.
And also about becoming a father: “I haven’t felt this optimistic since right before my parents divorced”. Watch the video.
