At 83, Yoko Ono does not stop, not for a minute. Between the galleries and her never ending fight for peace, Ono is releasing a sequel to her critically acclaimed 2007 album, ‘Yes, I’m A Witch’. The new record is entitled ‘Yes, I’m A With Too’ and features collaborations with artists like ‘Death Cab For Cutie’, Peter, Bjorn and John, tUnE-yArDs, Her Son Sean Lennon and many more. The album is out this week via Manimal Vinyl as a double vinyl set, as well in a deluxe cd edition and digital formats.
Besides the music and throughout January, Ono is presenting her new visual art show, ‘The Riverbed’, at the Andrea Rosen and Lelong galleries at Chelsea, New York. This week is the last chance to catch the show at the Galerie Lelong gallery.
With so much going on, Ono also recently conducted an online Q&A, answering questions from fans on her Twitter and Facebook pages. It’s within her answers, you can clearly see Ono’s motivation, how she always keeps going, and how nothing is gonna stop her.
With one of the followers asking: “How do continue to reinvent yourself in spite of hardship and tragedy?”, Ono answered: “Because that’s the only thing we can do. Reinventing is actually fun. Tell yourself how you want to do it. Tell your friends how you are doing it. You and your friends will be into a big surprise”.
To sum up how she maintains her life the way that she does, Ono got the perfect question and had the perfect answer: “How may we strongly live kindly and beautifully?”, a fan asked, “If you want to, you can do it”, She said, “Listen to your heartbeat. It will tell you what you want to do. And your brain will tell if you can be successful to do it or not. Yes. And answer it – You can”.
