With a new album called ‘Higher Truth’ and a few remarkable performances, Chris Cornell really earned the title ‘Artist Of The year’. A few months ago he created a fantastic version for Sinead O'connor’s ‘Nothing Compares To U’. A few weeks later he brought his 11 year daughter on stage to play Bob Marley’s ‘Redemption Song’ Together. There are no words really, Cornell is just a great talented guy, and looks like he’s gonna be here for many more years to come.
2. Taylor Swift
On October, 2014, Taylor Swift released her fifth studio album, ‘1989’. From that moment, the 26 years old star became bigger than ever. Sliding even more into the pop world and Selling 1,287,000 million copies of the album on the first week. Swift also went on a huge world tour (which ends this week), bringing tons of famous artists and her best friends on stage with her. If there was one artist making more headlines than anyone this year (Including her online battle with Apple Music) - It’s swift.
For a while now ‘BABYMETAL’ is considered as one of the most popular groups online. The Kawaii Metal girl group from Japan is trending like crazy everyday Seems like that in 2016 this unique group will grow even bigger. On April 1st, ‘BABYMETAL’ will release a new album and will post all details about their new world tour, the biggest one for them so far. On April 2nd they will open the tour at SSE Arena Wembley in London and closing it in their first headline show at Tokyo Dome.
4. Ed Sheeran
By the age of 23, British boy Ed Sheeran released his second studio album, ‘X’ reaching the number one spots in the UK and the US, making him one of the biggest performers in the world. Sheeran is a lovable guy. With arms full of tattoos and a babyface, he perfectly fits the little love songs into the desires of the young ones. He is clearly here to stay.
It’s been a hell of a year for AC/DC. literally. After guitarist Malcolm Young left the band due to illness and Drummer Phill Rudd was accused of criminal chargers - In came Stevie Young on guitar (Agnus and Malcolm Young’s cousin) and former drummer Chris Slade back into the band. AC/DC started a monstrous world tour called ‘Rock or Bust’ promoting their latest album, released in November 2014. No matter what happens, AC/DC is unstoppable. And the fans are always going to be there.
