For the love of art: artists at a drawing class at the New York Academy of Art were greeted by none other than naked Iggy Pop. The 68 years old Stooges front man was brought to the class by the Brooklyn Museum, and agreed to deliver the inspiration for the artists. And so, more that 20 drawings of the nude Pop will be exhibited ay the Brooklyn Museum in NY as part of a project conceived by artist Jeremy Deller.

Quoted on pitchfork, Deller said: “The life class is a special place in which to scrutinise the human form. As the bedrock of art education and art history, it is still the best way to understand the body. For me it makes perfect sense for Iggy Pop to be the subject of a life class; his body is central to an understanding of rock music and its place within American culture. His body has witnessed much and should be documented.”
We must say, this is also a brilliant marketing move by Iggy Pop. His new album ‘Post Pop Depression’ in which he collaborated with Queens Of the Stone Age man, Josh Homme, will be out Match 18.
