The Group's New Song, 'Perfect', Entered the Billboard Chart, Their Fifth Debut on the Billboard Top 10 Hot 100 and Highest Ranking Among Groups

It’s official: The lovable British boy band, 'One Direction', broke a new record as their new song, ‘Perfect’, entered the Billboard chart, making it the group's fifth song to debut on the billboard top 10 hot 100. This is the highest ranking among groups and bands, passing 'The Beatles' that remain with four songs.

According to Billboard, “The Beatles launched three of their fab four top 10 Hot 100 debuts in their original historic heyday, and one as a reunited trio (featuring the late John Lennon's vocals) more than a quarter-century later: ‘Hey Jude’, ‘Get Back’, ‘Let It Be’ and ‘Free as a Bird’”.

But now, ‘One Direction’ takes it home. Billboard adds “The group stormed into the hot 100 with ‘Perfect’, Fueling its start, it begins at No. 2 on the Digital Songs chart with 136,000 sold in its first week, according to Nielsen Music, and No. 18 on Streaming Songs (6.9 million U.S. streams), following the arrival of its music video”.
