2016 will be a wonderful year for PJ Harvey fans and art-rock fans in general. Four years after her lovely ‘Let England Shake’ Album, Polly Jean Harvey (46) will release a new album this spring, and recently posted a short video teaser from her new musical path.
Notice this upcoming album is not a usual one. According to Harvey’s Facebook Page, “PJ Harvey returns with a new record documenting a unique artistic journey, which took her to Kosovo, Afghanistan and Washington, D.C. The album was recorded during her month long residency at Somerset House, ‘Recording in Progress’, in which audiences were given the opportunity to see Harvey at work with her band and producers in a purpose-built studio.”
One talented guy that takes part in Harvey’s new record and shows is the singer-songwriter-producer, Alain Johannes. Formerly of the band ‘Eleven’, Johannes produced and worked with many musicians such as Chris Cornell, Queens Of The Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures, Arctic Monkeys, Eagles Of Death Metal and many more.
Posting about the upcoming album, Johannes wrote on his Instagram profile: “Was so much fun being a part of this recording and can’t wait to tour in my dear friend Polly’s band. See you out there”.
