The Firebird has always been a unique model for guitarists (and bassists). It is not as popular as the Les Paul or the SG, but as soon as someone picks it up, there is a good chance he or she will stay with it for a lifetime. This one has got our immediate attention. First of all because of its color, this “Blue Mist” is just as sweet as other popular red or black guitars. Did we mention we are big fans of triple humbucker pickups? Well, here they are again, this time on this magnificent black SG with a mahogany body & neck and 22 frets. Gibson says the guitar “Takes the timeless elegance of the ‘Black Beauty’ model and applies it to the iconic SG body style to create a stunning homage to this early ’60s rocker”. Who wouldn’t like to own an original Flying V? No matter what other rocking shapes guitar companies will come up with, everybody always goes back to this traditional design. In white, the guitar might just be the prettiest of them all. The Gibson site says that “The traditional ‘arrowhead’ headstock has a white plastic truss-rod cover with Gibson logo, and there’s a commemorative ‘120th Anniversary’ banner at the 12th fret. It doesn’t get much sweeter than this.
